Subscription Tiers
Compare CritForge subscription plans — Trial, Solo, Pro, and Studio tiers with pricing and features
Quick Answer
CritForge has four plans: Trial (free, 40 GP), Solo ($15/mo, 200 GP), Pro ($25/mo, 450 GP), and Studio ($50/mo, unlimited). All tiers access all 19 generators with the same AI quality — plans differ only in GP and a few advanced features.
Plans at a Glance
CritForge has four tiers: a free 30-day trial and three paid plans. Every tier — including the trial — gets access to all 19 generators and produces the same quality of AI output. The differences are in how much Generation Power (GP) you get each month and a few features that only make sense at higher usage levels.
| Plan | Price | Monthly GP | Campaigns | Session Prep | VTT Export | PDF Export |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trial | Free (30 days) | 40 GP | 3 | Yes | Yes | Standard |
| Solo | $15/mo | 200 GP | 3 | No | Yes | Standard |
| Pro | $25/mo | 450 GP | Unlimited | Yes | Yes | Premium |
| Studio | $50/mo | Unlimited | Unlimited | Yes | Yes | White-label |
Annual billing is available for Solo, Pro, and Studio — you get two months free compared to paying monthly.
Trial
The trial is how everyone starts. You get 30 days and 40 GP to try the full product — no credit card required.
What's included:
- All 19 generators (NPCs, plots, encounters, maps, factions, puzzles, and more)
- 40 Generation Power credits for the duration of the trial
- Up to 3 campaigns
- Session prep tools
- VTT export (Roll20, Foundry VTT, Fantasy Grounds, Owlbear Rodeo, and JSON)
- Standard PDF export
The trial doesn't reset monthly — your 40 GP is a one-time allocation for the full 30 days. If you use it all before day 30, you'll need to upgrade to keep generating. If you haven't upgraded by day 30, the trial expires automatically and your content is preserved but generation is paused until you subscribe.
Trial users get the same output quality as paying subscribers. Nothing is watered down.
Solo — $15/mo
Solo is built for hobbyist GMs who run a single campaign or want a reliable toolkit for session prep without committing to a higher tier.
What's included:
- All 19 generators
- 200 GP per month, resets on your billing date
- Up to 3 campaigns
- VTT export
- Standard PDF export
Solo doesn't include session prep tools (those are Pro and above). If you use session prep regularly, Pro is likely the better fit.
Annual plan: $150/yr — saves you $30 compared to paying monthly.
Pro — $25/mo
Pro is designed for GMs running ongoing campaigns who want the full toolkit and higher output volume.
What's included:
- All 19 generators
- 450 GP per month, resets on your billing date
- Unlimited campaigns
- Session prep tools
- VTT export
- Premium PDF export with enhanced formatting
Pro removes the campaign limit entirely and adds session prep, which lets you generate complete session outlines with linked encounters, maps, and NPC notes in one workflow. The premium PDF export produces cleaner printable output.
Annual plan: $250/yr — saves you $50 compared to paying monthly.
Studio — $50/mo
Studio is for professional GMs, content creators, and teams who need unlimited generation and commercial-use features.
What's included:
- All 19 generators
- Unlimited Generation Power — no monthly cap, never throttled
- Unlimited campaigns
- Session prep tools
- VTT export
- White-label PDF export (no CritForge branding)
- API access
- Commercial use license for generated content
- Priority generation queue
- Dedicated support
Coming Soon: Studio is currently in development. The tier is fully defined, but API access and white-label PDF export aren't available yet. Sign up for the waitlist to be notified when it launches.
Annual plan: $480/yr — saves you $120 compared to paying monthly.

Upgrading
You can upgrade at any time from your account settings. When you upgrade mid-cycle, you're billed a prorated amount for the remainder of the current month and your GP balance updates immediately.
If you're on the trial and upgrade before it expires, any remaining trial days are replaced by your new plan's monthly allocation.
Downgrading
Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Your current plan and features stay active until then. If you're downgrading from Pro to Solo, campaigns beyond the 3-campaign limit become read-only — your content is preserved, you just can't add to those campaigns until you upgrade again.
Trial Expiration
Trials expire automatically after 30 days. The system runs a nightly process that checks for expired trials and pauses generation access. Your generated content stays in your account — nothing is deleted. You can upgrade at any point to restore full access.
If you want more time to evaluate before committing, reach out through the in-app feedback tool and we'll work something out.
All Tiers, Same Quality
One thing worth calling out directly: CritForge doesn't produce lower-quality output for trial or lower-tier users. The same AI models, guardrails, and SRD compliance checks run for everyone. The only difference is how much GP you have to spend.
